Napoli want to get a deal done for Algerian midfielder Adam Ounas as soon as possible and have entered negotiations with Bordeaux, according to SportItalia.
French side Bordeaux are said to be wanting around £10million for Ounas, whereas Napoli only value the player at £6million. However, talks between the two clubs have been positive and Ounas is likely to be Napoli’s first signing of the summer.
The 20-year-old scored four goals and made three assists in 30 games for Bordeaux during the 2016/17 season. However, he started just 14 of those matches, appearing as a substitute for the majority of the campaign.
He helped the Nouvelle-Aquitaine team to 6th place in Ligue 1. Ounas was reportedlu unhappy at the amount of time he spent on the bench, and wants to play more often.
Last year, the attacking midfielder picked Algeria at international level but injury meant that he missed the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in which the Desert Foxes were eliminated at the group stage.
If Ounas was to sign for Napoli, then he would link up with fellow Algerian footballer Faouzi Ghoulam. Other European clubs such as Manchester United and Monaco have also reportedly been linked with Ounas in recent months, so he could have a few options over the next few months.
